AIDA NO.100 STOVE

Direction for use:

1.  Unscrew the filling can and pour best kerosene into the tank unto not more than 3/4 of its capacity.  Replace the filling cap with washer and tighten. Open air-release screw .
2.  Pour methylated spirit into the spirit cup and light. Shelter flame from draughts of air to achieve sufficient pre-heating of the vaporizer.
3. Tighten air-release screw when the methylated spirit in the cup has almost burned out. Pump in air by the pump until the burning-procedure repeat spirit pre-heating. As soon as the burner is well heated the cooking-flame may be brought to full strength by pumping in more air-pressure.
4. To reduce the flame open air-release screw slightly and close it again. as soon as the flame is sufficiently reduced to be fit for the desired purpose.
5. To extinguish the stove just open air-release .

When the stove is not on action the air-release screw is bound to be kept open lest kerosene is ejected from the nipple .This might occur owing to pressure in the tank originating from temperature - differences.

Practical advices:

When the flame does not increase after pumping or it is not burning steadily or not with a blue color the nipple 701, must be cleaned by means of the cleaning needle No.2301 without interrupting the burning-operation.

It is advisable, however to keep a match ready pending the cleaning action to re-light the burner immediately in case the flame should extinguish.

Unclean nipples are diminishing the heating-effect of the stove and will accelerate the cloggging of the burner.

After long use the stove does no longer burn satisfactorily in spite of cleaning the nipple with the needle or changing it, the burner is clogged and must be changed.

The flame blowing up on pumping with a yellowish-white color proves that the pre-heating has been insufficient and has to be repeated according to the directions (see 2 and 3 ) after having released tae air pressure.

If the pump fails in working satisfactorily draw out the pump rod, grease the dry pump leather and resress it. This can be done whilst the stove is in action. When re-inserting the pump rod mind the fitting in of the leather. The pump will work properly if the leather is facing downwards into the barrel of the pump.

It is essential to empty the tank occasionally and to rinse it with Kerosene in order to remove accumulated foreign matters,which might clog the nipple-hole and the burner-components.
